One of the originals from Blackbird Cigars, the Unkind, previous the Raven, has been a disrupter in the market place. We wanted to see if it lived up to the brand’s recent explosive hype.
One of the things we like about this brand is that they are responsible for crafting the cigar itself. Typically that means more emphasis on production perfection. On one sample smoked, it was just that. You could really tell how well the cigar was made, but unfortunately on the other, yet another tear in the wrapper that was conveniently covered up.
Both samples burned impeccably. We really loved how evenly these cigars burned, and better yet the beautiful white ash that was left behind. The draw was just a tad tight on one of the samples, but overall it's hard to be critical of what was otherwise near perfection.
Typically a closed foot is a turn off but in this case, we both really enjoyed the Brazillian blast off. Most of the cigar brings bitter and brightness with very mild sweetness, which we agreed we could have used a little more of to really balance this cigar out. Those flavors remain consistent all the way to the end, which leaves more to be desired in terms of change ups. That being said, it’s actually very delicious because what you do get is very arresting.
Coming in at the low low price of $7.00 a piece, we don't need to state the obvious. Of course you should go out grab a few to give a try. We don't think you will regret it.

You can get your hands on this cigar for just around $8.00 which makes it a pretty damn good deal. There isn’t anything challenging about this cigar, so in terms of recommendation, but really feel there are some out there that may find this cigar to not be in their wheelhouse. If you do grab one, do yourself a favor… Drink it in the morning with a good cup of coffee. You won't regret it.
