You may have not heard of Patina cigars before, and that’s OK. You have now and it’s a name you won’t forget. Coming from the passionate mind of Patina owner Mo Maali, the Habano is a real gem amongst a crowded offering. The cigar is rolled at the Mombacho factory which is nestled nicely in the southern Nicaraguan city of Granada. Like most Mombacho cigars, the tobacco used is superior and it's clear no shortcuts were made in terms of constructing this cigar. Flawless is the best way to describe it from aesthetics alone. The burn on both samples smoked offered very few challenges, which is always appreciated and the draw was full and effortless. From a flavor perspective, this cigar really stands out. Call it a crack component, maybe some funny fairy dust, the flavor and balance of this cigar is really something special. Smooth, sweet, and tangy, this stick offers up a flavor profile we really feel can be enjoyed and appreciated by everyone. Coming in at a price of $9.00, the Patina Habano Robusto is a GREAT deal. It’s a cigar that is impossible to get sick of, and really quite the opposite in the fact that it leaves you always wanting more… Kind of like Heroin.. So I have been told. A real finger burner, we would recommend making this cigar a part of your regular rotation.
The Patina Cigar Line is the first from Mombacho that uses some tobacco from outside of Nicaragua. The wrappers are Ecuadorian and the filler utilizes Nicaraguan as well as some Pennsylvanian tobaccos.
“Patina is an oxidation process that, over time, produces a green film over bronze or copper. In the same spirit, our experiences in life shape our opinions, attitudes and beliefs. Just as those buildings underneath the patina retain their original character, we too as human beings will always be ourselves at our core. No matter what happens in life, always be true to yourself.”
