Maybe I am late to the game on this one. Wait no. I am flat out late to the game on this one! A 2013 release, the Davidoff Nicaragua has been named a game changer for Davidoff, as it veered hard left leaving the traditional path of Dominican Tobacco, shifting to a pure Nicaraguan blend. Thus the name. The question is, did the experiment work? Let’s find out.

Construction - This cigar is very light in the hands but pressed out nicely. The edges aren't sharp, and instead have some curvature to them. The cigar has great medium brown color and is incredibly smooth and soft. Davidoff just doesn't mess around on quality of production and it shows in this cigar.

Burn - Not surprisingly, this cigar burned even for the most part. The draw and smoke production were top notch which I usually always get with this cigar. I did have one nasty run that couldn't be rectified with a simple touch up, but that was a short lived disappointment. Overall, it was pretty indicative of most Davidoff’s which is superb.

Flavor - I always love this Davidoff  because of the aromas. It’s actually why I love most Davidoffs. In this cigar the aromas really heightens your senses and kind of demands your attention. The cigar does come on peppery which isn't not expected with a Nicaraguan puro but a balance of floral and creamy begin to take shape in each draw as it progresses. It almost seems conflicting to say but the intensity of flavors begins to rise but more of the creaminess than anything else, which for me is very desirable. The same intensity of flavors heightens even more as you approach the end and a mild woodiness begins to insert itself in the combination. It’s balanced, complex, and keeps you guessing all the way to the finish line.

Highly recommended.

This is a Davidoff so it isn't inexpensive, BUT it is one of the least expensive on the market, coming in at $16.00 per stick. I truly believe this is one of the best valued Davidoff cigars made, even at that price point. It’s one of which I am always excited to smoke and one of which I am always excited to see others smoke.
