I'm typically never thrilled to smoke a shade Connecticut. Just being honest. Most of the time I get what most people get and that is a horrific harshness at the end but I decided to give this Espinosa a go, so let’s see how it pans out.

Construction - The construction on the cigar was pretty superb. The Cigar self is very smooth it has a reddish hue to it which is indicative of that Colorado color But of course being a Connecticut shade much more on the lighter side. I was Very impressed by the look and feel of the cigar.

Burn - The burn on this cigar was equally impressive.  this wasn’t a very dense cigar so I anticipated a pretty easy draw and that’s exactly what I got. I was really impressed by how much smoke production came from this sample and minus one pit an outage at the end, all in all this was pretty flawless in terms of an effortless smoke and overall consistency.

Flavor - Fairly indicative of anything that comes from the La Zona factory this cigar comes out of the gate heavy with spice But a quick blast of creaminess followed up by an introduction of some woody earth tones, this cigar balances out quickly. It’s honestly a flavor profile I really enjoyed. Take my advice and retrohale this cigar as it will bring out a wonderful campfire flavor and great earthy aroma. As you head into the last part of the cigar it becomes even more creamy with just a slight bit of pepper hanging back on the tongue and unlike the harshness that I’m used to in a CT shade this cigar becomes peppery but not in an overstated way. It’s nice that it finishes off the way that it started.

Highly recommended.

This cigar comes at a reasonable price point of $8.50 and even if you’re not a traditional Connecticut fan, the price alone should be intriguing enough for you to pick up. If you are a Connecticut shade fan and you haven’t had this cigar it’s certainly a must try. In my opinion it’s one of the best on the market.
