What a value! Being only about $6 in a robusto vitola, the JC Newman Brickhouse Maduro had me singing the popular Commodores song “Brickhouse” all afternoon. Beautiful in construction with a girthy draw and bold, full flavored maduro filler blends, this cigar is the intersection of quality, price and flavor! “She’s a Brick House, she’s the one, the only one, built like an Amazon”. With a superior construction score of 5.7, this JC Newman stick has a great looking Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper that originates not far from the Amazon forest! The cap was perfect and no defects or soft spots could be found. The cigar is firm and full of tasty Nicaraguan filler. Piggy backing off of the amazing construction quality, the burn also checks in at a remarkable 5.7 rating on the Big Six rating scale. The only downgrades on the score could be found in a slightly firm draw on one of the three cigars we reviewed while another of then three had minor consistency issues with the burn. The Brick House Maduro is packed full of bold Nicaraguan flavors that immediately present hints of spice. The cigar mellows after the first third into a creamy, wonderful maduro experience. For roughly $6, this cigar is a must for your humidor. By combining sturdy construction with a great burn and consistent, bold maduro characteristics, this Brick House is mighty mighty, just letting it all hang out!
