Curses is the one of the triplets of the Fantasy Miniseries by Ventura Cigars and to be honest, you put fantasy-anything in the title?...I’m friggin’ smoking it. I think that all stems from the fact that fantasy movies are practically all I watch nowadays. Don’t judge.
Construction - What a gorgeous dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. Can we just admire that for a moment, please? Very well constructed, but sandy to the touch; I could exfoliate my face with this cigar, Better yet, it’s so grippy I could use it as bike handles on my ten-speed bike. I’m not kidding.
Burn - But does it burn well? Sure as s#!t does! Very even and consistent burn that produced a full mouth of Mexico City smog in your mouth with just a couple puffs. Ashen peaks — you know I love ashen peaks — present themselves every time I ash this baby... A sign that the brand chose the right tobacco innards for such a thickly-wrapped cigar. It was about a good hour and half smoke for me (which I babied) and it gave me time to reflect on the 10 Worst Curses in History, so that was a plus. I smoked AND I learned something!
Flavor - Yep. It does not disappoint. Sweet, really tangy, and savory flavor notes right off the bat with a spice that is so mild it just really lingers in the background without ever taking a front-and-center role in the blend. Mild enough that you non-spicy cigar lovers would appreciate it a lot. It’s just a very well-balanced and smooth cigar. It didn’t change too much but the flavors were consistent and everlasting. Like most curses do.
For $9.00 it’s a really great cigar for the money. I had no issues whatsoever. In fact, I want to try my hand at casting a spell I’ve been working on… “Please! For the love of god! Try this cigar!”...Did it work?
